YA Must Reads For Every Ravenclaw

Ravenclaw’s are known as the brains of Hogwarts but that is not all that they are. Yes, Ravenclaw House prize learning, wisdom, wit and intellect in it’s members, leading to many Ravenclaw’s being academically motivated and talented students, but they also prize’s individuality, quirkiness and having pride in oneself and their original ideas. It is not unusual to find a Ravenclaw who can recite every magical textbook for the semester verbatim by the end of the second day, but it is equally as likely to find a Ravenclaw lost in the quirky things that they truly find fascinating. We mustn’t forget, one of our favourite Harry Potter squad members, Luna Lovegood was a proud Ravenclaw member.

Here are YA books every Ravenclaw needs to read!

Made You Up by Francesca Zappia 17661416

In this funny and moving contemporary we see how two Ravenclaw’s with incredible wit and intelligence also struggle with the second, more quirky and maybe even more interesting parts of their personality. (But seriously, Alex and Miles are soooooo smart. May give Hermione a run for top student.)

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Whenever a Ravenclaw’s in the mood for some light reading Fangirl would be the perfect fit! Our MC is a quirky nerd who writes epic Harry Potter type fanfiction, and just wants for her individuality to be excepted! Something all Raveclaw’s need in order to grow their amazing uniqueness!

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1) by Marissa Meyer

Cinder is a total Ravenclaw, she strives to learn, is witty and has an outrageous intellect for machinery! If a Ravenclaw is in the mood for a fantasy where they’ll have to use they’re amazing brains to follow the breadcrumbs I completely recommend Cinder.

Every Day by David Levithan

Every Day is a must read for all Ravenclaws! Our MC A is the most accepting, open character ever. His outlook on life and human beings will really strike a cord with Ravenclaw’s everywhere!

Trial by Fire (The Worldwalker Trilogy #1) by Josephine Angelini

Is there anything a Ravenclaw loves more then learning something completely new and interesting?? In this fantasy, Ravenclaw’s will learn about alternative universes, and magic along side our witty MC, Lily!

I Hunt Killers (Jasper Dent #1) by Barry Lyga

Ravenclaw’s will love unraveling the mystery behind this suspenseful thriller! Using all the little clues left along the way to see if they can guess the killer! I couldn’t.. but then again I’m not a Ravenclaw!

The Martian by Andy Weir

In this cross over novel, Ravenclaw’s will get to streatch their incredible minds and learn all about botany, space travel and exploration, and other giant topics which somehow come together to make this book addictive!

Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Ravenclaw’s will not be able to put this massive casefile down until they’re devoured every last page and line of code and they have their AH HUH! moment!

I am especially happy that someone finally mentions Trial by Fire! Not enough people have read those books, but I agree with all others as well. You just mentioned some of my favourite books!

      1. I hear you. Firewalker was VERY different from the first book, but I kind of liked it. The betrayal felt real, if you know what I mean? I am really excited for the finale now and can’t wait for the cover reveal. I have all the MacMillan covers that make one big picture if you lay them side by side πŸ˜€

  2. I’ve been sorted and am supposedly a Ravenclaw…but sometimes I don’t feel suited at all for this house LOL! I’ve only read Fangirl…from this list, but what would interest me from this list would be: Trial by Fire and I Hunt Killers. I’m definitely putting those two on my TBR! πŸ˜€ Thanks for the recommendation!!!!

I think you should add Legend to the list, have you read it yet? It’s about a girl and a boy in a really different world but they’re like the same people! It’s really cool.
