Top Ten Tuesday: Like A Million (Okay, Not Quite) 2015 Release I Was Anticipating SOOO Hard But Never Got To!

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by… The Broke and The Bookish (Like that’s ever changed)

So since 10 trillion billion books came out in 2015 (obviously an accurate number duh) and I only read 91 books last year that means there were still a hell of a lot of books I never got to! Since I want to showcase all these books here is a million books I was anticipating hard last year but never actually got to!

my heart adn other black wholes Magonia novice one thing stolen

My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga (Released Feb 2015) – I was looking forward to this book like you would not believe and then ____ (AKA. nothing). I never got to it and that’s just so disappointing!!! I still plan to read it eventually!

Magonia (Magonia #1) by Maria Dahvana Headley (Released April 2015) – I was so excited for this book with it’s pretty cover and awesome synopsis but once it came out and it got bad review after bad review I just decided to forget it.

The Novice (Summoner #1) by Taran Matharu (Released May 2015) – I wanted to read this SOOOO BADLLLYYYY! And I still want to! I mean it has a goodreads average rating of 4.15 which is SO high for a debut novel!

One Thing Stolen by Beth Kephart (Released April 2015) – this sounded so interesting and a tad twisted and I was excited but now I’m kind of just like meh

Ink and bonean ember in the ashes none of the above rowan sf

Ink and Bone (The Great Library #1) by Rachel Caine (Released July 2015) – This sounds like such an interesting fantasy series and I was so keen to get to t but I just never did 😦 I still might though!

An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes #1) by Sabaa Tahir (Released April 2015) – I am going to read this book this year if its the last thing I do! IT’S GOING TO HAPPEN TRUST ME!

None of the Above by I.W. Gregoio (Released April 2015) – I still plan on reading this eventually! It’s sounds like such a unique important contemporary and I WANT IT!

Rowan (The Worldwalker Trilogy #1.5) by Josephine Angelini (Released July 2015) – I was keen as a been for this novella but then it wasn’t available on Australian Kindle (which happens sometimes and IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST!) But then I heard it was something like 2 chapters from Rowans POV and like 120 pages of the first Worldwalker books?? I’ll probably still read it one day.

The rest of us just live here The way we bared our souls through the dark adhs fans of the impossible life asd

The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness (Released Oct 2015)  – I even own this book and still haven’t gotten to it!!! I will though! EVENTUALLY!

The Way We Bared Our Souls by Willa Strayhorn (Released Jan 2015) – This book was literally released a year ago and I still haven’t gotten to it! SHOT ME NOW! It has a pretty dismal goodreads average as well, but I just wanted to read it so badly!

Through the Dark (The Darkest Minds #1.5, #2.5, #3.5) by Alexandra Bracken (Released Oct 2015) – Okay I need to get this if its the last thing I do!! I need to know what’s on that last novella!!!!!! Plus I want the novella bind up on my shelf! HAHA!

Fans of the Impossible Life by Kate Scelsa (Released Sep 2015) – I was anticipating this book HARD but then I just never got around to reading it! It’s on my shelf through so I shall be reading it very soon!!!!

17564519 (1) 19364719 (3) 24612624 23524610 (1)

Walk on Earth a Stranger (the Gold Seer Trilogy #1) by Rae Carson (Released Sep 2015) – this sounds like such an interesting and unique fantasy series and I’m still really keen to read it! I’ve heard brilliant things about this book!

Slasher Girls & Monster Boys by Various Authors (Released Aug 2015) – I was so looking forward to this book! It has some really awesome authors contribution and yet I never read it! I have it on my shelf and everything!!!

George by Alex Gino (released Aug 2015) – I have heard nothing but brilliant things about this inspiring book and yet I still haven’t read it!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME??!

One by Sarah Crossan (Released Sep 2015) – For AGES all I wanted to do was talk about how flipping awesome the concept of this book is and then when it was released in September when so many books I’d been anticipating for the year where released it kind of faded into the background and I never got to read it!!!! I still totally plan to!

next together court of fives after you

The Next Together (The Next Together #1) by Lauren James (released Sep 2015) – This sounds like such a unique heartmelting beautiful read and I want to get to it so badly! And plus I didn’t know it was a series till just now so I’m totally down for this series!

Court of Fives (Court of Fives #1) by Kate Elliott (Released Aug 2015)  – I have seriously been complaining that there’s barely been any awesome new fantasy series being released lately and maybe that’s because I NEVER READ ANY OF THE ONES I WAS ANTICIPATING!! I’m still planning to get to this one as well!!!

After You (Me Before You #2) by Jojo Moyes (Released Sep 2015) – I think the reason I never got to this book was because I had just read Me Before You a month of so earlier and I knew that the sequel was going to be very different and I wasn’t sure if I could handle that! I still might read this!

So there you go! Maybe not quite a million books but looking at all the tabs I had open sure made it feel that way LOL! Have you read any of these books??! Are there any I should GO READ RIGHT NOW?? What were you anticipating majorly last year but never got to?

  1. I wish I could tell you which ones you need to read but I haven’t read any of them either… 2015 literally just had too many books going for it XD I was so excited for The Next Together though, definitely will read it this year!

  2. My Heart and Other Black Holes was a pretty good book and is worth the pick up, but Magonia was also something I was really looking forward to but it fell so far below my expectations I hope you get to them soon 🙂

  3. Yesssss so many amazing books on your list Amy. I would also like to get to Magonia, despite the disappointing reviews. I wasn’t the biggest fan of After You but I think Me Before You is a hard act to follow! I hope you manage to get around to these books.

  4. WOO SO MANY! (Same for me, there are just so many I didn’t get to and that makes me sad.) I can say that I HAVE read ‘The Rest of Us Just Live Here’ – it was a pretty good one by Ness, I enjoyed it. I really wanted to read ‘An Ember in the Ashes’ too (such big hype!!), and ‘None of the Above’ (love the description)! Hopefully we’ll get to them this year 🙂

I’ve only read two books from your list: Ember in the Ashes and The Rest of Us. I liked both quite a lot.
I completely forgot about Slasher Girls & Monster Boys. I’m usually not a fan of short story collections because I always end up liking only a few but I’ll definitely get this one in the near future too.

I really wanted to get Ink and Bone as well, but never got around to getting a copy.
Same with Walk on Earth A Stranger, George, and One.
