TBR Jar Draw #17: Transcendence vs. Loop

Every second Monday, I draw two titles out of my TBR Jar and decide which one to read! The book has to be read straight after the book I’m currently reading and a title can only be drawn and put back in the jar two times and then on the third time I HAVE to read it.

Last fortnight, I drew Red Rising and it literally Blew My Mind! I loved it so much, and it’s all thanks to my trusty TBR Jar forcing me to read long forgotten books on my shelf! You can read my thoughts on Red Rising here!

This weeks draw:

19286673 (2)20504754 (1)

Loop (Loop #1) by Karen Akins vs. Transcendence by Shay Savage

Oh my god this draw has a theme!! I don’t think that’s ever happened before! Both Loop and Transcendence are time traveling romances! Loop’s a futuristic novel, where while learning how to bend time at school the protagonist accidentally brings a guy back from our present into her future and they fall in love (duh!). And in Transcendence the protagonist accidentally sends herself back in time to the caveman era and she falls in love with a cave man (which let’s be honest, sounds super strange, but interesting).

So, neither of these actually appeal to me to much, especially when I think about Six of Crows sitting impatiently on my shelf, BUT I do have to pick one. I was going to go with Loop, it seems like an easy YA dystopia that I could fly through, but then I saw that Transcendence had a goodreads average rating of 4.15, which is pretty damn high for a self published book, so I’m going to go with Transcendence this time!! YAY! Let’s hope, caveman romance isn’t as weird as it sounds!

P.S. This will have been the second time I’ve pulled Loop out of the jar and not chosen it, next time it’s drawn I have to choose it!
