Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Quotes I Fell In Love With This Year

toptentuesday2

As usual TTT is hosted by the amazing Broke and Bookish!

Okay, confession, I am really, really not a quote person! BUT on occasion I do make a note about something amazing said in a book I think I probably just have like ten!

TTT quotes

“White shouldn’t be the default any more than straight should be the default. There shouldn’t even be a default.” – Becky Albertalli, Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda

“Lily, I can honestly tell you I have never in my long life come across a creature as beguiling as you. You are as fresh and as lovely as a budding flower kissed by the dew of a golden morning. I breath you in and am filled with the taste of sunshine, life and hope. You are much more than beautiful. You are… temptation personified” – Colleen Houck, Reawakened

“You only get one life. It’s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.” –  Jojo Moyes, Me Before You

“Underneath this veneer of slightly crazy, and mildly socially retarded, I’m a complete disaster.” – Rainbow Rowell, Fangirl

“It’s true, you know. In space, no one can hear you scream like a little girl.” – Andy Weir, The Martian

“She looked at them, at the three males who meant everything – more than everything. Then she smiled with every last shred of courage, of desperation, of hope for the glimmer of that glorious future. “Let’s go rattle the stars.”“ – Sarah J. Maas, Queen of Shadows

“Sometimes I think people take reality for granted.” – Francesca Zappia, Made You Up

“I was as unburdened as a piece of dandelion fluff, and he was the wind that stirred me about the world.” – Sarah J. Maas,  A Court of Thornes and Roses

“My soul sees it’s equal in you.” – Renee Ahdieh, The Wrath and the Dawn

“He had a feeling this was one of those times when a male should express positive enthusiasm regardless of what he really thought—especially when he didn’t really know what was going on.” – Anne Bishop, Vision in Silver

“It would be easy to abuse a person when they never recognized it as abuse.” – Marissa Meyer, Scarlet

That was actually easier then I was expecting!! What are your favourite quotes from this year? Let me know bellow 🙂

  1. Oo! I love these quotes, particularly the one from ‘Made You Up’. (I haven’t read it), but this is still an amazing quote and I think it’s quite true. The generations nowadays dream and fantasize about a life post-apocalypse, not realizing how much life would change, not realizing how much isn’t explained in how those worlds are required to function. Reality is much nicer than the worlds we read about and being able to leave the books and come back to the safety of our homes, is a thing we take for granted, surely. Beautiful quote. Really resonated with me. Thank you for sharing!

Oh man, these are some amazing quotes! I especially love the quotes which I’ve never encountered before. I also saw that The Sea of Tranquility is one of your upcoming reviews and I can’t wait to see what you think of it since it’s one of my favorites. I hope you loved it as much as I did. 🙂

Haha, your Anne Bishop quote made me laugh out loud. Now everyone is staring at me lol. Great choices. I’d love to see that quote from The Wraith and The Dawn on a valentines card next year 🙂

    Happy Reading

      1. I had that hope, too, but I think right before they left for the trip I started to see that he wasn’t going to change his mind, as much as I wanted to hold on to the hope that he would at the last second. The more I think about it, the more I understand that it had to end the way it did, even though I wish it didn’t! 😥
