High fantasy series are actually my kryptonite and this series just has everything I love in high fantasy series!! I gotta say I think The Gray Wolf Throne is my favourite yet! I’m still waiting for something extra special to push me into giving a book in this series 5 stars but this book came pretty damn close! So much happened in this instalment of the series and I honestly have no idea how Chima is going to wrap everything up in the next book but I have faith in her and her genius writing!
So there is a big difference in this instalment then in the previous two, are you ready!! Raisa and Han are in same storyline!!! WHAT!!? Crazy I know! I expected Chima to make us wait till the last book for these two to finally be interconnected in a permanent way and then she goes and gives us this awesome book! I don’t want to ruin anything but as usual with these two nothing can go smoothly but at least now they’re storylines are interconnected and they are both working towards the same goal!
I have never like Han better then in this book! In the first book Han is a bit selfish and rude, then in the second book he does a complete 180 and is trying his hardest to be proper and upper class, and although I liked his personalities in both of those book, I LOVED him in The Gray Wolf Throne. In this book he’s like a mash up of the ruff and of the cultured, he is so 100% comfortable in him own skin and owning who he is without apologising! I just loved it!!
I also LOVED Rasia in this book!! I can’t tell you what happens because that is a massive spoiler, but Raisa definitely comes into her own in this book as well! She is now this amazing, strong, activist character and I love her!!
As I said a lot of crazy stuff is revealed in this book and I can’t wait to see where it goes! The truths about Crow and Dancer blew my ever loving mind!! Why I didn’t guess them, I do not know, but I just had no clue and WOAH!!! SEE NOW I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!
I love this series it is actually fantastic! I feel bittersweet about starting The Crimson Crown because on one hand I can’t wait to see what happens next and on the other I don’t want it to be over!!! If you still haven’t picked up this series I really suggest you get to it!!
