Month in Review: September 2015 // Where I got a new job, practically DIED, celebrate TV SEASON!! and (duh) read!

month in review done

Hello my pretties!!!! And another month in down the drain! Can we please band together and make time stop moving so fast????? Maybe if everyone on the planet runs really fast in the opposite direction to the way it spins??? HUH!!??? Science is obviously my hidden talent!

This month was pretty dull to be honest! I’ve been studying a ton (legit the worst thing in the world – kill me please!) because I only have 3 and a half more weeks of the semester!!!! AND THEN NO MORE UNI FOR 4 MONTHS!!! Except for exams – but exams shams!  (I say that now – come November I’ll be dying.) I did get a new job this month though!!!! Pretty exciting! Which we all know the most important part of this new job will mean extra cash for MORE BOOKS!! Hurray! Another interesting thing that happened to me this month was that I practically died. Okay, no. BUT it certainly felt like I was dying! I was sick for like the first time in a billion years! My body has never revolted against me so hard before!! I hated ever second. I was so sick I didn’t even read! Now that’s how you know that it was a sucky time!

Guys, it’s TV season!!!! It’s all coming back!! *Amy dies of happiness* So I’ve watched a couple of the new piliots and so far I’ve decided that I LOVE Quantico and Oil and Blood!! Did you watch Quantico??? It gives me a How to Get Away With Murder vibe, but with Federal agents!! I’m down! I was originally drawn to Oil and Blood because (duh) Chase Crawford, but it was soooooo goood!!! How to Get Away With Murder, Big Bang, Fresh off the Boat, Faking it, Brooklyn Nine Nine, and Scorpion ARE ALL BACK!!! If anybody needs me I’m going to be cuddle up in my bed watching all my shows!

ANYWAYS onward to the BOOKS yippee! I read a grand total of 11 books this month! 1 was a DNF though, so does that mean I only read 10??? I seriously think I had one of the best reading months of the year with quality of the books I read! I read 3 5-star books! That’s huge for me! I’ve only rated 13 books this year 5-stars and 3 of them were in this month!!!

5 stars

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes – ALL THE BLOODY FEELS! Like, death! I was not prepared and I was not okay! This book was spectacular!! You should definitely read this but be prepared!

Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass #4) by Sarah J. Maas – I need Maas to release all the books like right now! I. Can. Not. Wait. ANOTHER 12 MONTHS! Please don’t do this to me!

The Martian by Andy Weir – I’d heard The Martian was good! I just was not expecting it to be THAT GOOD. Blew my mind! I loved every page of it!

4.5 stars

Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli – This book is fantastic!!! Like BRILLIANT! If you’re ever in the mood for realistic characters and a romance so cute you’ll melt, then this should be your go to!

4 stars

The Exiled Queen (Seven Realms #2) by Cinda Williams Chima – I love this world! Chima is an incredible world builder! (she should be a god – we’d all have powers) Plus *spoiler* Han and Raisa FINALLY get together in this one! I was dying of happiness!

Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles #2) by Marissa Meyer – Wolf is adorable!!! OMG he’s the best!! I just want to give him a hug!! I am so excited to continue this series!!

I Hunt Killers (Jasper Dent #1) by Barry LygaAshley loves this entire series and I just needed to know why!! This book is so twisted and brilliant! Murder Mysteries aren’t usually my go to thing but I really loved this one!

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon – This book is SO CUTE!! All the pictures are fantastic! I loved them! The pictures plus the formatting of this book made it super easy just to fly through! Plus that Plot. Twist. Woah!

3.55 stars

Firewalker (The Worldwalker Trilogy #2) by Josephine Angelini – I really liked this book I just kept comparing it to my utter love of Trail by Fire and it kind of feel felt! I can’t wait for the last book though!!

Split Second (Pivot Point #2) by Kasie West – Again I kept  comparing Pivot Point to Split Second and I just liked Pivot Point better! But then again, Pivot Point does have Conner!! Conner is amazing!!!

Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler – there was really nothing wrong with this book, I just really, really wasn’t in the mood to read it! Which is a bummer!

Cider (The Lunar Chronicles #1) by Marissa Meyer – I loved rereading this book! Brought back all the feels

Goodreads Reading Challenge: 73/52 (140%) –yeah next year I really need to set the bar higher

Pages read: 4,282 this month (not including reread of DNF) | 25,972 this year

September TBR: 8/14

So that’s it for this month! What did everyone else get up to and read this month??
