P.S The cover got all bent and ruined in my bag one day!! This is why you can’t have nice things Amy!!

Holy Lunar! How has this book been sitting unread on my shelf for MONTH????? HOW!? Present Amy wants to kick past Amy’s ass! I L.O.V.E.D this book! It was so, so entertaining and ingenious – which I’m starting to realise is two adjectives that will describe all the books in this series!

I loved all the new characters introduced – Scarlet, Wolf, Throne – but I will admit my favourite out of those three has to be hands down Wolf! Okay, Wolf has reminded me exactly why I used to love werewolf books. Why did I ever stop reading them??? He is sweet, and shy and unsure of himself but at the same time he is so protective and loving and just wants what’s best for Scarlet! I literally was melting into goo from Wolf protective cuteness! LOVED HIM!! I also adored Throne, he is so shameless and like cocky – but in an adorably humorous way. (I don’t know much about Cress, but I’m guess that Throne and Cress end up together?? Do I get a gold star if I’m correct??)

I really enjoyed Scarlet as well but, I couldn’t help but compare her to Cinder – who I liked better! So, although Scarlet is kickass, strong, loyal, brave and compassionate, all things I love in a protagonist, I could never have a girl crush on her because I just think Cinder is better!

I loved that in Scarlet we got to experience the story through multiple perspectives, all experiencing this world and the current issues from different viewpoints. It gave readers an all rounded experience on how everyone is feeling and thinking about certain things! I’m hoping in Cress we get to see a lot more of Wolf’s perspectives! I would love to read him and Scarlet’s relationship from his perspective!!

I actually didn’t know going into this book that Cinder is in it so much, I thought that she may be in it a little bit but the majority of the time we’d be reading from Scarlet – I was definitely wrong, and I’m so glad that I was!!! Reading about Cinder coming to terms with finding out she’s Lunar and ALSO the Princess was great!! Exactly what I wanted out of this novel – now all I’m waiting for is Cinder to start a full on war against that raging bitch Levana!

I am so looking forward to starting Cress, there was so much action in this novel, so much more then in Cinder and it’s only gotten me way more excited to read what’s coming up!!!

  1. That’s why I never put my books in bags! I don’t care how many people think it’s weird that I’m carrying a book around all day! I think out of the 3 main characters between Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress (which is the third book) Scarlet is my least favorite. This series gets better and better as it goes on because the world is just building as she adds new characters. I am still looking forward to reading Fairest and then Winter when in comes out in a couple of months!

AHHH I’M SO GLAD YOU LIKE THIS ONE!! IADORE IT!! IT IS MY LIFE!! I loved Cinder, but it took me a few tries to get totally obsessed with it (I am now XD) but Scarlet was an insta-favourite (and still my favourite book in the series!!) I love Wolf and I love how fiery and epic Scarlet is AND THORNE IS EVERYTHING. He’s like a literary sci-fi Captain Jack Sparrow. xD Definitely desperate for Winter!!
Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!
