The Exiled Queen (Seven Realms #2) by Cinda Williams Chima // Where I Die of Happiness

4 stars

The Exiled Queen in the sequel to The Demon King, which I read last month and ABSOLUTELY LOVED! While The Exiled Queen was brilliant, I think I was still expecting a little bit more, especially after that mind blowing ending of The Demon King! But I still loved this book and devoured every page of it.

The Exiled Queen starts off a little slow, dragging for the first 150ish pages, which is mostly just the Han and Rasia’s both traveling towards Oden’s Ford. Although I found it entertaining to read what they were doing along their journey’s I was impatient for them to finally get to Oden’s Ford and get to their different schools.

I LOVE ODEN’S FORD! CAN IT PLEASE BE A REAL PLACE!!! Oden’s Ford is a school, about the size of a small town, broken up into many different Houses. The different Houses each study a different trade, for example, Han and Dancer are going to Mystwerk House, the wizard school, to learn wizardry and wizard history, while Raisa, Amon and the triplet are going to Wein House, the military house, to be Cadet’s or in Amon’s case a Commander. But there are like six different Houses. Oden’s Ford has like its own little town with bars and shops and everything and NOW I WANT IT TO BE A REAL PLACE I CAN GO TO! It was so cool! Think an awesome magical boarding school in a book then like quadruple it to the size of a town! I loved it!

I so, so, so, enjoyed reading Han learning wizardry! I like Raisa’s schooling as well, but Han’s was by far more interesting! I love that he’s a wizard now! And not just any wizard but like, it’s so obvious, he’s going to become like the most powerful wizard!!!! I CAN’T WAIT!!!!

I am so excited to start The Grey Wolf Prince (causse c’mon THAT NAME!! Do you think it means that Raisa marries someone??????). The ending of The Exiled Queen leaves everything up in the air and I just need to know what happens next!!!

The next part is a **SPOILER** I just had to have a flailing moment about it!!

Okay guys, IT FINALLY HAPPENS IN THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!! RAISA AND HAN FINE-AH-LE MEET AND DATE!!!!!!!! OMG I DIED!! I honestly, like no hyperbole at all, had whole body convulsions of happiness when I read the chapter title that said they were going to meet! I was like ready to do cartwheels the first time they kissed! LIKE YASSSSSSSSSSS!! If you haven’t read these books, you won’t understand how much I have been waiting for this to happen!!! I can’t wait to see where it goes, after the ending I’m not too sure but I’m still eager!
