Top Ten Tuesday: Freebie: Ten Series I Want To Start!

We have a freebie for today’s TTT theme and to be honest I seriously find the freebie themes the hardest – THINK FOR MYSELF??? What is this??? But I had the idea to do ten series I want to start before the end of the year. I mean, at least read the first book in all these series if not the first couple in all these series! I’ve honestly had all these series on my TBR for yonks and lately I’ve been seeing them pop up more and more on my radar so I’m been extra eager to get to them! Here’s the list!!

Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson

Everybody loves these books!! And I honestly don’t have a clue why I haven’t read them myself it’s exactly my type of book – high fantasy with politics, magic, and amazing world building!! I really want to get to it!!

Choas walking trilogy by Patrick Ness

Another series everyone loves! This series sounds so unique and awesome – A land where everyone is male and can hear each other’s thoughts and then one day our main guy stumbles across a female who’s thoughts he can read Dah Dah Dummmmm!!  I’m actually not 100% if that description is accurate but I’m going with it!

Shatter Me trilogy by Tahereh Mafi

Guys, I want to know who Warner is and why he’s on everyone’s Book Boyfriend lists!!!! I think I’m missing out on someone special here and I feel left out! Plus the covers and GORGEOUS!! And I also love a good dystopian! (is it dystopian?? Or fantasy I actually have no clue??)

The Queen of the Tearling trilogy by Erika Johansen

First, everyone who reads these books LOVES them! Second, THEY’RE TURNING IT INTO A MOVIE WITH HERMIONE AKA EMMA WATSON!! I  am so, so, so, down for it!!!!!!! Third, it’s a complex high fantasy novel – like YAAAASSS!

Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes

Okay I don’t know that much about this series except everyone who reads it ends up hooked on it and its high fantasy – so I’m so ready to get involved!!

Tiger’s Curse series by Colleen Houck

So I recently read Reawakened by Colleen Houck which is the first in her new series about Egyptian mythology and I’ve read people say it’s pretty similar to her Tiger’s Curse series which is about Chinese mythology. On one hand I am so excited to start this series because if it is similar to Reawakened I’m sure I’ll love it, but on the other hand, I don’t want it to be like incredibly similar because then that’ll just be boring and predictable! I’m still going to read the first on in the series and give it a go! Plus I loved learning about Egyptian mythology so I’m sure I’ll love learning the Chinese mythology!!!

The 5th Wave trilogy by Rick Yancey

I know this is a favourite dystopia series for a lot of people but I have just never got around to reading it (plus I thought it was about zombies, which is not appealing to me – it’s actually about aliens) but now that I’ve seen the trailer I WANT TO READ THIS SERIES LIKE RIGHT AWAY!!!!! I CAN’T WAIT!! The trailer looks so good and I really like Chloe Grace Moretz so I’m excited!

after the

After The End duology by Amy Plum

I’ve heard people rave about this duology!! They say it’s like a rare amazing under the radar books – so I’m excited! Plus awesome dystopia – YASSS!

The Bone Season series by Samantha Shannon

I know absolutely nothing about this series except that people LOVE IT! I kind of love going into a book blind, makes reading it more exciting!

The Heir Chronicles series by Cinda Williams Chima

Another series I know absolutely nothing about, but I’m currently reading the Seven Realms series by Chima and I LOVE IT SO MUCH I NEVER WANT IT TO END and The Heir Chronicles has just as high a GoodReads rating as the Seven Realms series so I’m assuming it’s just as mind blowing awesome!!!

  1. I’m one of those people who absolutely and completely loved REAWAKENED, as in I voiced to the universe my overwhelming adoration for it, and so I tried her TIGER’S CURSE… only to be really disappointed by it because there are so many differences when it comes to devleopment, writing, and consistency/continuity D: I’m still stuck in Book 1 but I ranted lots already on my GR page :)) WILL BE INTERESTED TO KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS, THOUGH, AND IF YOU’LL END UP LOVING IT OR NOT LIKING IT !!! We could compare notes and stuff! 😀

And yes to pretty much EVERY Brandon Sanderson stuff out there, but his Stormlight Archive IS THE BOMB as well. Would love for you to give that a try!!

  2. OMG! You must read Shatter Me trilogy! you’ll definitely love it! I’m nearly finished with The Final Empire book from the Mistborn Series, it’s really an incredible book. So I hope you check it out soon. The Tiger Saga is a great series and the only flaw I did find in it was the annoying protagonist and the triangle but it’s an exciting read. 😀

  3. I love your topic choice!
I really want to read Shatter Me too!
I loved The 5th Wave/Infinite Sea and After the End. I need to read Until the Beginning though!
I also really need to finish the Chaos Walking series. The Knife of Never Letting Go was so amazing!

  4. I’ve been talking about reading the Chaos Walking books for such a long time, and still haven’t started them… but I hear such good things! I really loved The 5th Wave, but wasn’t crazy about the 2nd book. Still, I can’t wait to see how it all works out in the 3rd book. Great topic!

  5. Your post has me cracking up, hahaha. I don’t know if your description of the Chaos Walking series is accurate either since I’d never heard of it, but it did make me want to read it lol. And I kind of wanna know who Warner is, too! Except I’ve seen some people who love him and others who hate him. Also those Mistborn covers are gorgeous. Here’s my TTT!

Omg I want to start SO MANY OF THESE too!! 😀 I loved the first Mistborn book but I haven’t touched any others though…mainly because they’re so HUGE. *dies* But the first book was really really good so definitely worth trying sometime. And I want to try The 5th Wave because the movie is coming soon and I feel so behind if I don’t read the book first. hehe Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!

  7. Eeeep, the Mistborn and Chaos Walking trilogies are AMAZING. Go read them now. (after Split Second, haha)
I didn’t like The 5th Wave so I never read the sequel, but maybe you’ll like it a bit better 🙂 And I also really, really want to read the Seven Realms series! Great post =)
