Top Ten Tuesday as usual is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish
So I actually found making my list for this week so incredibly easy, like it just flowed out of me in like 3 seconds! And I didn’t even have to go back that far, all these books are books are books I’ve read in the last like 2-3 months. Some of these characters I HATED, but some of them I just didn’t click with – like they weren’t overly bad but there was just something about them I couldn’t over look.
Wendy –Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson
I never thought I’d say this about a Peter Pan book, but I HATED Wendy!!! SHE JUST RUINED EVERYTHING FOR TIGER LILY AND PETER!!!!!!!!! I swear when she turned up in the book I was like ‘oh my god NO’ cause you just know what’s about to go down! Plus she was like really discriminative towards Tiger Lily and that was annoying to read.
Sky – Finding Sky (The Benedicts #1) by Joss Stirling
Okay so Sky is one of the characters in which I HATED! She annoyed the poo caca out of me! I like powered through this book just hoping it would end soon. In my review I refered to Sky as MBI (Miserable Boring Idiot) that’s how much I disliked her.
Sophie and Agatha – The School For Good and Evil (The School for Good and Evil #1) by Soman Chainani
So, yes two characters, but I’m counting it as one since it’s the same book. Sophie and Agatha are the most one dimensional characters EVER!!!! Sophie’s vapid and self obsessed, and Agatha’s pessimistic and a door mat. AND THEY BOTH FIGHT OVER A GUY!!!!! Argh my eyes were rolling this whole books because of these characters.
Bill – The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham
I really never connected to Bill in The Day of the Triffids. It’s not that I don’t like him it’s just that I can’t really connect to a middle aged male from the 1950s I guess. Plus he had some views on disability and suicide I just did not agree with!!
Haven – That Summer by Sarah Dessen
This whole book bored me to be honest, and I could just never connect with Haven she is a very normal. Does that make sense?? She is like way, way to normal. Like I have no trouble imagining Haven as a normal girl, going about her normal life, having normal problems and, I guess, I found her kind of dull.
Mal – Play (Stage Dive #2) by Kylie Scott
Mal was just ANNOYING! Like I’m pretty sure he had ADHD but no one ever said it??? He like moves himself into the chicks house without her permission! He like dances on tables with girls who aren’t the girl his with! I just didn’t like him. At. All!
Lila – A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! But for like the first 3/4 of it I did not like Lila. I found her conceited, rude and arrogant and just kept turning me off her! Don’t worry though by the end of the book I liked her a lot more and I’m almost positive I’m going to love her in the next book.
Digby – Trouble is a Friend of Mine by Stephanie Tromly
I knew while reading this book Tromly wanted readers to find Digby charming and eccentric but instead I found him really irritating. I sort of found him obnoxious and selfish.
Otto – No Life But This (UniCorp #2) by Anna Sheehan
So I was so, so, so looking forward to this book but I was majorly disappointed. Otto kind of goes mad in the centre of this book and some of the things are very, very questionable. It made me a bit uncomfortable to read. Plus I hate reading books where the protagonist mops around about a love interest and Otto mops for a decent chunk of this book!
Rhiannon – Every Day by David Levithan
I think my problem with Rhiannon is that I loved A so, so, so much and I didn’t think she was deserving of him. Like she never loves him as much as he loves her and it just annoyed me. Plus as if it took her so long to break up with that horrible boyfriend!
That’s it for this weeks TTT, feel free to leave your link in the comments and I’ll be sure to check it out!! 🙂
