Can I just start by saying I started out this month so, so, well… and then it kind of went down hill. Until the 23rd I’d only brought 6 books this books this month (and I was so happy with myself) and then two things happened, the first was Ashley from Dear World introduced me to the oh so exciting world of pre-ordered Amazon books and the second was that I discovered a new bookshop opened up at the shops and I just COULD NOT RESIST.
The books I brought!
Aren’t they so pretty?!!!

The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham
I brought this particularly for the Read Someone Else’s Favourite Book for BookTube-A-Thon next week. It’s my dads favourite book.
The books I pre-ordered!
After reading Ashley’s July Book Haul post last week I was so, so curious about these less than $10 pre-ordered hardbacks she’d ordered from Amazon. Like less than $10 for a brand new Patrick Ness Hardback??? HOW? So of course I asked and low and behold this is a THING! Amazon have amazing sales where you can save massive amounts off unreleased hardbacks if you order them as pre-order. Like 7 of the books I ordered are 48% off the price they’re going to be once the book is released!!! Like, HOLY SHIT YES!! Also I don’t feel quite so guilty about ordering so many books because the price doesn’t come out all at once, the cost is deducted as each book is released and sent to you. So really it’s the exact same as if I brought the books in the month they were released only SO MUCH CHEAPER! Literally the only downside I see in this is that I have to order from Amazon America (not Australia – cause Amazon Australia is a joke) and will have to wait probably 2-3weeks for shipping. Other than that this is Golden and probably be how I buy all the new releases I’m looking forward to from now on.
Here are the massive amounts of books I ordered (I may have gotten a bit carried away). The covers will link to goodreads.
I honestly did not mean to end up getting this many books!!! I don’t feel to guilty about the pre-orders because they price doesn’t come out all at once but 12 books is way above my book buying monthly limit. I’ll have to make sure I be really, really good next month!
