#TBRTakedown 2.0 and Joining The Lunar Chronicles (Re)Read-a-long

Hiya everyone:) I’ve decided to expand my wings and join two readathons/readalongs!! YAY!

The first is the #TBRTakedown 2.0 which I would not have known about if not for Heather from Heather Reviews. Thanks Heather 🙂 But the actual #TBRTakedown is being hosted by Shannon from Leaning Lights on the wonderful world of booktube.

The takedown (legit so dramatic, I love it!) will take place on the 24th – 31st of July. There are going to be fun posts to do and there are five challenges to take part in. I honestly can not imagine reading five books in a week but who knows, inner speedy gonzales may come out and I may concur the pile!

Here are the challenges and the books I choose:

The First in a Series

Pivot Point (Pivot Point #1) by Kasie West

This book has been sitting on my shelf since the start of the year it’ll be nice to finally get to it

A Sequel

Siege and Storm (The Grisha #2) by Leigh Bardugo

I legit only have two sequel (I haven’t read) on my shelf and in my next post you’ll understand why I didn’t chose Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles #2)

A Book I’ve Owned for Over a Year / An Oldie

Heist Society (Heist Society #1) by Ally Carter

This is more of a reread but I have been so eager to see if I love it as much now as I did when I was like 15

A Book Out of My Comfort Zone

Lick (Stage Dive #1) by Kylie Scott

This is probably the only book on my shelf which is out of my comfort zone so it wasn’t a hard choice. I am keen to read something a bit different actually.

A Book From My Latest Haul

Every Day (Every Day #1) by David Levithan

I got so many good books in my last haul but I think I’m going to go with Every Day since it a) everybody loves this book b) It sounds amazing c) it’s about time I read a David Levithan book d) it’s not a long read – which is perfect when I’m trying to read 5 books in a week.

I’m excited to take part in the #TBRTakendown, it’ll be a blast!!

The second readalong…

I am finally going to read the Lunar Chronicles series!!! It’s HAPPENING! And it’s thanks to Brittany over at The Book Addict’s Guide who is hosting a Lunar Chronicles re-readalong before the release of Winter on November 10th. And Amber from YA Indulgence – otherwise I would have no idea the readalong even existed. Technically this is suppose to be a re-readalong (as the name suggests – duh) but since I’ve only ever read Cinder I’ll be reading the rest of the series for the first time! I’m so excited!

The Information:

The readalong will run from August 1st – December 7th, with four weeks allocated to read each book.

  • CINDER: August 1 – August 31
  • SCARLET: September 1 – September 30
  • CRESS: October 1 – October 31
  • WINTER: November 10 – December 7
  • Since Fairest is such a short read, it’s not technically part of the readalong but if your interested in reading it the down time between Cress and Winter should be enough time to read it. (Which I will be doing)

At the end of each month readers are encouraged to write a post/review about the book, and there will also be fun posts related to each book readers can get involved in.

I like the idea of this readalong being spaced out because part of the reason I haven’t gotten to finishing this series is I’m not to interested to binge reading it but this way I get to read other books in between. Since I’ve already read Cinder I’ll probably just start in september with Scarlet.

I’m super excited to do this! I plan to fangirl so hard about these books and I’m so happy we’re going to be doing it in a group!! YES MOB FANGIRLING! Plus I’ve been wanting to read these books and find out what the big deal is forEVER!
